Although yesterday ended with the spotlight on those high-profile transfers which didn’t happen – David de Gea and Saido Berahino – there were a host of big deals which did go through.
Here, fanatix picks out our top five signings from a dramatic and eventful deadline day…
5) Nathan Dyer – Swansea City to Leicester City (season loan)
The winger was one of Swansea’s best performers last season, playing his way to the cusp of the England squad, but the arrival of Andre Ayew and the form of Jefferson Montero has seen him slip down the pecking order at the start of this campaign.
Signing a right-sided midfielder was Claudio Ranieri’s deadline-day priority, and he managed to pick one up a good one. Dyer has over 150 Premier League games to his name, pace to burn and now a point to prove after being allowed to leave Swansea.
