The former Arsenal midfielder made an immediate impact upon joining the Hammers on loan last season, and Bilic will be hopeful that he can do the same once he returns from an ankle injury.
Song had been in talks with the Londoners about a return all summer, but United feared that they could be usurped by capital rivals Tottenham Hotspur or Chelsea, both of whom had been linked with the Cameroonian, so would have been hugely relieved to get this one over the line.
