2) Bacary Sagna (Arsenal to Manchester City)
A major blow for Arsenal already this summer, long-serving French right-back Bacary Sagna has allowed his contract to run down and has been snapped up by rivals Manchester City. Although the Premier League champions already have Pablo Zabaleta as their first choice in that position, Manuel Pellegrini had been keen to offer Sagna big wages to make the move to the Etihad Stadium, which has seen him stay in England despite rumoured interest from the likes of PSG and Monaco. Sagna bowed out with an FA Cup win in his final appearance for the Gunners, but will now be hoping to move on to bigger things with City, after a difficult time and many trophyless seasons at the Emirates Stadium. Surely the first of many signings this summer for City, Sagna’s quality, work-rate and experience will surely make him a fine addition for the Sky Blues, who have looked in need of reinforcements in defence despite their title victory in 2013/14.
