1. John Terry
Love him or loath him – and there are plenty of reasons to loath him – but there’s no denying what an exceptional player John Terry has been for both Chelsea and the Premier League in general.
Even this season at the tender age of 34, Terry has arguably had one of his best campaigns as a professional footballer and could have pipped Eden Hazard – or at least been nominated – as PFA player of the year, had it not been for his ‘unfashionable’ reputation.
Retirement is surely coming if not next season then certainly in 2016 or 2017, but until then we can continue to watch perhaps the epitome of English defending and central defensive work at its most finest. A name to go down in the annuls.
