With that in mind, we’ve put together a list of five youngsters who could impress, if given the chance between now and the end of the season:
Harry Wilson
Despite being just 17, he’s already earned caps for Wales (pictured). His recent goal against Chelsea in youth team game has again emphasised his quality, while his wonderful left foot make him something of a unique talent.
Sergi Canos
Another wide-man, but a more workmanlike player, rather than someone like Wilson – who relies on his flair. He has been compared to another Spaniard, Alberto Moreno, who also enjoys getting up and down the touchline on a regular basis.
Tom Brewitt
The Under-18s captain has played on both the middle, and on the right of a back three with the youth team this term. The defender has been quality so far this season, but needs more experience before coming anywhere near the first-team.
Pedro Chirivella
Dubbed the ‘next Xabi Alonso’ by some, the young Spaniard is excellent on the ball and looks ready to be tested at a higher level. He’s renowned for his quality ball retention and likes to keep it on the floor and play.
Jack Dunn
The versatile forward has already been on loan at Cheltenham so far this season. The youngster needs to continue to prove himself if he’s to enjoy further success at a higher level.
