Manchester United transfer news.
As CaughtOffside reports all five youth team products’ current deals expire at the end of the season, which means they can start discussing terms with other clubs in January.
Manager Louis van Gaal hasn’t decided which of the quintet he wants to offer new contracts to, although it seems most likely that Blackett and McNair will be the first to be approached.
Both defenders have played a significant part in the Red Devils’ campaign to date due to a spate of injuries at the back and it would seem odd if van Gaal weren’t to reward that.
The Dutchman is understood to be a particular fan of Blackett, with the 20-year-old making eight appearances in all competitions in 2014/15, including five Premier League starts.
McNair is not far behind his fellow centre-back with seven games under his belt this term and with van Gaal not planning on making any defensive signings in the New Year, both starlets look in line for new deals.
For the other three things are less certain with James at 21-years-old and Lingard at 22-years-old getting to the point in their careers where if they are going to make it at Old Trafford it would have happened already.
Pereira is still just 18-years-old and is a firm fixture in the United reserves.
