2. QB Russell Wilson – The Seahawks QB has a chance to become the youngest QB in NFL history to win two Super Bowls, but to do that Russell Wilson has a lot of growing up to do in a very short amount of time: He needs to avoid unnecessary risks like forcing throws to covered receivers (a mistake that nearly cost him in the NFC Championship game) and holding the ball for too long. The Patriots defense will not be nearly as forgiving as last year’s Broncos was, and he most likely won’t have the incredible 72% completion rate that allowed him to cut through the Broncos defense like a hot knife through butter. Bottom Line: Wilson needs to evolve into a mature, NFL QB without giving up on the traits that brought him here in the first place.
1. RB Marshawn Lynch – Beast Mode Activate! Marshawn Lynch has been arguably the most dominant RB in the NFL for two straight years and it’s time for him to show off that dominance against the Patriots team that struggled against the run more than a large number of other teams have this year. If Lynch doesn’t get the ball moving early and often in this game the Seahawks will have to rely on their passing game – and with Darrelle Revis and CB Brandon Browner prowling the secondary and begging for a challenge, that is not something the Seahawks should be forced into if they want the best chance at winning this game.
