The Eagles missed out on finals football yet again in 2014 in Simpson’s first season with the club.
His side were plagued by injuries, and the lack of pace through midfield certainly didn’t help Simpson’s cause.
The loss of Eric McKenzie to a knee injury will leave a gaping hole in defence, but the impatient Eagles faithful will still demand finals football.
