This is the one that United fans really want, and likely Van Gaal too. The Bayern Munich star is a prolific scorer, relentless hard-worker and capable of playing both behind and in front of Rooney.
German newspaper Bild claims that United have tabled a £60m bid. This might not be enough to tempt Bayern into selling the 25-year-old to the same club which took legendary midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger away from them, and, even if it is, Muller may not want to leave his Bavarian home.
