Five players who could replace right-back Sagna at the Emirates Stadium.
Several newspapers reported this morning that France international Bacary Sagna will be the first casualty of Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger’s overhaul at the Emirates Stadium this summer.
Wenger has reportedly instructed chief scout Steve Rowley to draw up a list of possible replacements for the 30-year-old, and we thought we would do the same…
5. Serge Aurier (Toulouse)
The 20-year-old Ivorian may be barely out of his teens but he is a hulking powerhouse of a defender, who would add much-needed steel to the Gunners’ back-line.
Despite his tender years, Aurier has been a mainstay in the Toulouse defence at right-back this season and has impressed both going offensive and at the back. Aurier can also cover at left-back, versatility that will impress Wenger.
The French tactician is no stranger to signing promising youngsters from his homeland but, with Carl Jenkinson already on the books, Wenger will surely be looking for a more experienced player to replace Sagna.
