2. Micah Richards (Man City)
A regular in City’s title-winning side, the powerful defender picked up a serious knee-injury early this season and has amassed just four appearances for Roberto Mancini’s side all term.
The 24-year-old, who has notched up 13 caps for his country, would fit with Wenger’s policy of building a squad based on young British talent and, as a boyhood Arsenal fan, would surely jump at the chance to join the Gunners.
But while there’s no doubt about Richards’ physical attributes, critics point to his lack of defensive awareness and “football brain”, flaws which may deter Wenger.
