Robert Lewandowski
Perhaps a cheaper option for Arsenal would be Borussia Dortmund forward Robert Lewandowski, with the Poland international out of contract in the summer.
A move to Bayern Munich has been heavily mooted, but Lewandowski has now denied that a deal has been agreed – reportedly because coach Pep Guardiola doesn’t believe he would fit in with his desired playing style at Allianz Arena.
Perhaps Arsene Wenger will deem differently for Arsenal, and Lewandowski’s significant goal threat was clearly evident in the Gunners’ 2-1 loss to Borussia Dortmund at Emirates Stadium.
60 goals in 81 starts for the Bundesliga side offer clear indication of that finishing prowess.
