Martin Skrtel, Mamadou Sakho and Kolo Toure all need to improve, whilst the latter and vice-captain Daniel Agger could both be sold this close season.

Therefore central defence is a priority in order to shore things up and Rojo appears like the ideal signing – especially as the Argentine can also play at left-back.
