Whether Liverpool could have done anything more to persuade Luis Suarez to stay at Anfield will never be known – but, with their current troubles and the form of Mario Balotelli in mind, Liverpool chiefs may well be regretting not trying absolutely everything to keep Suarez at Anfield.
