We look at five players Spurs need to move on.
Mauricio Pochettino became Tottenham Hotspur’s seventh ‘permanent’ manager in 10 years when he was appointed last month.
The former Southampton boss has been linked with a host of new players, as he prepares to use the transfer market to shape his squad ahead of next season.
However, we are going to focus on the other side of the coin – on which players Pochettino should be looking to get out of White Hart Lane.
Michael Dawson
Andres Villas-Boas tried to sell Dawson last summer, but the affable defender refused to join Queens Park Rangers.
The 31-year-old, who is Tottenham’s club captain, went on to play 32 Premier League games in a turbulent season and he did OK.
However, OK is as good as Dawson gets. He is not fast or smart enough to be part of a team that has serious ambitions of breaking back into the top four in an age when England’s top division is stronger than ever.
