Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea
Emmanuel Adebayor’s Tottenham career was revitalised by Sherwood, but, despite his potential for brilliance, the Togolese forward cannot be relied upon.
Spurs are likely to want to bring in a younger target man to lead their attacking line next season.
Lukaku, who only turned 21 on Tuesday, is already a proven Premier League goalscorer, having netted 32 times in the two season-long loan spells, at West Bromwich Albion and then Everton.
The Metro recently claimed that Spurs were ready to open talks with parent club Chelsea regarding a £15m move for Lukaku.
