With Luis Suarez confirming his desire to leave Liverpool this summer, concern will fall over the Anfield faithful as they start to wonder who can step into the shoes of the influential Uruguayan and replicate the productivity he has given the Liverpool attack from his two seasons at the club.
We take a look at five players who could fill the huge void left by Suarez, as they look to challenge for a European place next season.
5. Stevan Jovetic, Fiorentina
The Serie A striker has been linked with a whole host of clubs this summer, with a number of European giants, including Arsenal and Juventus, keen to add the Montenegrin to their side for 2013. The striker scored 12 goals in 30 appearances last season, and that production, coupled with a solid squad around him, could see the 23-year old put up Suarez-esq numbers almost instantly. Fiorentina’s high asking price and Liverpool’s lack of European football could prove problematic, however.
