1) Ivan Rakitic – Sevilla (The Mirror)
Rakitic is a truly ambitious target, and Liverpool would likely have to meet his £32m release clause to sign him in January. For Sevilla this term, after being the club captaincy in the summer, the Croatian midfielder has scored and eight and assisted six in La Liga.
He can play deep in the midfield, or pushed further forward behind a striker, meaning he could eventually replace Steven Gerrard once the 33-year-old starts to wind down his fantastic career.
Alongside a true anchoring midfielder, and the ever improving Jordan Henderson, Liverpool’s midfield could look outstanding once again with Rakitic as its focal point.
