Though he may not be considered a Galactico as much as he used to be, he could still compete for a place in the club’s first team with the best of them. Aside from the language barrier there is very little that would stop Gerrard from making more than a handful of appearances. He can still occupy a central role to help dictate play, or he could move further back to fulfil a more defensively minded role. The pace of the Spanish game would suit him, too.
