#4a John Terry’s pretty fly for an old guy
When rumors of a possible move to the MLS start circulating, you know you’ve gotten a bit too old for football in England. That said, unlike his “old” friends Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard, the 34-year-old John Terry is nowhere near done. JT is coming off one of his best seasons in ages and is easily the best centre-back in the country right now.
The Chelsea defence will likely thrive or perish depending on Terry’s legs – and judging by what we’ve seen recently, smart money would be on thrive.
#4 Addition by subtraction – namely, Filipe Luis
The Blues are as good a team this year as they were last year, despite a making a few sales. That’s because they did a great job trimming the fat off the roster. Sure Petr Cech may prove to be a loss, but getting rid of Filipe Luis will do wonders for the team because:
A. It means Chelsea will waste less time giving a total flop valuable training time.
B. His sale gives the Blues extra spending money for mid-season signings, if they are required.
