Why things didn’t go as planned for the manager.
After just 10 months in charge Manchester United have sacked manager David Moyes following Sunday’s 2-0 Premier League defeat to Everton.
Current player-coach Ryan Giggs will take over as interim boss until the end of the season before the English champions begin the search for a permanent replacement.
Moyes was given a six-year contract upon succeeding Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford, but since then things haven’t gone entirely to plan and the loss to the Toffees was their 11th league defeat of the season.
The Scot also failed to achieve success in the League Cup, FA Cup and Champions League as well and has broken records for all the wrong reasons on the pitch.
It’s already known United will not defend their title, but they may also not qualify for European football and will finish with the lowest points tally of any defending champion in the Premier League era.
Here are the five major reasons Moyes was finally sacked by the Red Devils.
