3. They’re still in the Champions League
It’s tempting to assume that United’s season is already over, rendering sacking Moyes now pointless. But Chelsea were in a similar position two years ago, sacked their manager and eventually won the Champions League. United will not replicate that feat but if a new man is installed now, the club would be given a fresh injection of impetus which should see them through the second leg against Olympiacos and into the quarter-finals. With Spurs and Everton stuttering, fifth place in the Premier League is also up for grabs. It may not be much, but if United get rid of Moyes now, they can still finish the season on a high and take that momentum into the summer and next year.
