3. The impossible job
Last summer, the majority of fans, journalists and pundits believed Moyes was undertaking a near impossible task in replacing Fergie, so why are they crucifying him now? Forget the impossible dream, Fergie left his successor with an impossible job. The pressure on Moyes’ shoulders is immense but he was never expected to live up to the great man. Things may be worse than expected but what goes up, must come down; the board will not have expected Moyes to meet Fergie’s standards, so they should stick with him now rather than panic.
