1. Better and younger options at quarterback in the draft
One thing that can be conceded to Tebow’s fans is that the Eagles are in need of a quarterback. They inexplicably traded Nick Foles to the St. Louis Rams for Sam Bradford, who has been unable to stay healthy throughout his career.
Their other option is Mark Sanchez, who has proven to be nothing more than a reliable backup. While Tebow may be able to beat those two out, he will be 28 years old when the 2015 season starts.
Investing the team’s future in Tebow would make much less sense than drafting a young, promising quarterback such as UCLA’s Brett Hundley or even Oregon’s Marcus Mariota after trading up.
Both of these players have much more upside and are still in their early 20s, and there may even be diamonds in the rough in later rounds such as Baylor’s Bryce Petty.
