3. Leadership
Some would dispute his leadership, but there is no doubt that Manziel is fiery and will boost his teammates’ energy. The most prominent example of this is his final college game against Duke in the Chick-fil-A Bowl. The former Texas A&M Aggie led the team to a comeback from a 38-17 deficit, and they won 52-48. Manziel had to deal with a bad defense all season long but was still able to lead Texas A&M to a nine-win season. The Browns have lacked energy for years, which is why they have been a losing team for a long time. This could change soon if Manziel is the starter.
2. Chip on his shoulder
Manziel has dealt with a great amount of criticism for his performance on and off the field. Many analysts are saying he will be a bust in the NFL, and they have said his offseason partying will be too much of a distraction. While that may be partly true, his partying has occurred in the offseason and is not being used as a refuge from responsibility on the football field. Manziel had a surprising draft day fall to the 22nd pick, and the Browns finally decided to take him after some predicted he would go to them fourth overall. Manziel has clearly stated he wanted to be drafted first overall, so this is sure to motivate him to prove his doubters wrong.
