4. Double standard
James may be the most criticized NBA player in history, as he continues to be questioned for his reliability as a championship player even after winning two championships with the Heat. His criticism was even more harsh when he lacked a title on his resume, and some of that was valid as his fourth-quarter performances sometimes left a lot to be desired, such as the 2011 NBA Finals. Meanwhile, other NBA stars such as Kevin Durant and James Harden have still not won a title despite being in the league for a decent amount of time.
Durant has been in the NBA for eight seasons and been surrounded by a perennial All-Star point guard in Russell Westbrook, but why is him having zero titles more admirable than James having two? While the coaching of recently fired Scott Brooks is a contributing factor, James has been coached by failures such as Mike Brown in his career.
Harden has only been in the NBA for six seasons, but he never received condemnation for the Houston Rockets’ Western Conference Finals loss to the Warriors. James does not have anyone anywhere near as good as center Dwight Howard on his team either.
