FC Basel’s inconsistency
Whilst it is true that Swiss champions FC Basel pulled off stunning victories against Chelsea in the group stage of the Champions League last season, their fallibility was exposed in the games against Steaua Bucharest and FC Schalke, where the failed to pick up a victory in four attempts. Whilst Basel are likely to prove a real threat to Liverpool in the games between the two sides, the Reds will feel that their Swiss adversaries are more likely to drop points elsewhere, possibly against Ludogorets.
