As much as critics have been hammering United all year and the fact their squad is below par to challenge for trophies, there is no denying the quality of Rooney and van Persie.
The duo are still among the best attackers in world football and if they can combine properly – something which hasn’t happened that often this campaign admittedly – then even Bayern will struggle.
Rooney has 13 goals and 21 assists this year so far, whilst the Dutchman has found the net 17 times in just 25 appearances.
