3. John Harbaugh
Harbaugh has proven himself as one of the best coaches in the NFL since he has led the Ravens to the playoffs in every season as their head coach except 2013, and he solidified his status with a Super Bowl win. Someone of his caliber will not let his team miss the playoffs twice in a row, and the Ravens have enough talent for him to work with.
2. Improved defense
The Ravens performed reasonably well on defense, finishing 12th in scoring defense. They had a few hiccups such as surrendering 49 points against the Broncos and 41 against the Patriots, but they showed plenty of promise in other games. They allowed single-digit points in three of them.
The unit is bound to improve with incoming rookies that were drafted in the first two rounds. Inside linebacker C.J. Mosley will instantly upgrade the linebacking corps as he starts alongside Daryl Smith. Timmy Jernigan will likely see immediate playing time at nose tackle and defensive end. There are also second-year players such as inside linebacker Arthur Brown and safety Matt Elam who are bound to improve. The defense also has key players like Terrell Suggs, Haloti Ngata and Elvis Dumervil returning.
