4. Team chemistry
While the Cavaliers dramatically improved their team chemistry and overcame a slow start as the season went on, their squad consists primarily of players who have not played a full season together. Additions such as center Timofey Mozgov, shooting guard J.R. Smith and power forward Kevin Love have paid off greatly.
The Warriors have been playing together for a while though and have stability on their team, and Curry and Thompson have been the two best players on the team for the past few years. Their starting lineup has remained relatively the same as well, and the Cavaliers have all new starters since last season aside from Irving. Team chemistry was likely a factor in the 2011 Miami Heat’s NBA Finals loss to the Dallas Mavericks, so expect a similar display.
