1. Frees up room for Eagles to make another big move
The Eagles are not done with their quest to improve their roster just yet. While they have a playoff-caliber team, they are still working on building a Super Bowl-caliber roster that can compete with the best in the NFC.
Rumors continue to float around that the Eagles will trade up in the first round of the draft to select Heisman-winning Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota to reunite him with Kelly.
Although this is highly unlikely with the Eagles trying to re-sign Maclin, it may not be out of the question for the Eagles to sign the highly coveted free-agent defensive tackle, Ndamukong Suh.
Suh would give the Eagles a scary pass rush with Barwin already there. However, it seems more likely for the Eagles to go all-in for their quarterback of the future if they decide Mariota is their guy.
