2. The league table
As the old adage goes, the league table doesn’t lie. Despite a season in which Spurs can claim to have played well once, perhaps twice (Newcastle away and possibly Stoke City at home), the Lilywhites are still currently the sixth best team in England, on course to qualify for next season’s Europa League. This suggests Spurs possess players of enough quality to win plenty of football games, even without a coherent game-plan. This season has been dismal, but ultimately it’s likely to end in the same manner as last season (when the club picked up a record Premier League points haul) with Europa League qualification.
