The Gunners have reported been keeping an eye on the 19-year-old for some time as they continue to battle an endless stream of injuries to key personnel in defence. A prodigiously talented left-back, Wenger will be given encouragement to move for him after watching Valencia surrender fellow starlet Carles Gil to Aston Villa last week.
