2. Leandro Damiao (Internacional)
Spurs looked set to finally conclude the longest-running and most boring transfer saga in the history of football on January transfer deadline day, when several sources reported the club were close to bringing Brazilian international Damiao to White Hart Lane. The deal, inevitably, fell through but Spurs have continued to be linked with the striker, who’s name was first mentioned in connection with the Londoners back in 2010, when Tottenham signed a strategic (and utterly pointless, it seems) agreement with his club Inter.
Damiao finished top scorer at last summer’s Olympic Games in London but has struggled in front of goal in Brazil of late, and there is no guarantee that he will be an instant success in England.
