3. Teddy Bridgewater still has work to do
Bridgewater proved to be somewhat of a disappointment in his preseason debut for the Vikings. The aspiring starter only threw for 49 yards on 6-for-13 passing, and he was also strip-sacked. Meanwhile, Matt Cassel performed well, so he has still has a leg up on Bridgewater in the starting quarterback competition. Although Bridgewater still has a chance to win the starting job, he will need to stand out more.
2. Blake Bortles may start for Jaguars in Week 1
Bortles looked impressive in his preseason debut, throwing for 117 yards on 7-of-11 passing. He outperformed Chad Henne by a wide margin, so the Jaguars may be forced to give Bortles the starting job if he keeps performing this way. This was impressive especially considering the Jaguars’ receiving corps has been gutted due to injuries.
