4. The Green Bay Packers defense is for real
The Packers are receiving headlines mostly for the play of quarterback Aaron Rodgers and their entire offense, and rightfully so since they have scored over 50 points two weeks in a row. However, their defense is nothing to sleep on. They held the Chicago Bears to 14 points, but they officially proved their worth by holding the Philadelphia Eagles to 20 points.
The Eagles are still fourth in scoring offense with 29.9 points per game, and stopping an offense coached by Chip Kelly is no small feat even if it is quarterbacked by Mark Sanchez. Outside linebacker Clay Matthews continued to play on the inside, and he recorded a sack while helping hold running back LeSean McCoy to 88 yards. Outside linebacker Julius Peppers continued to play excellently as well. The Packers are a serious Super Bowl contender now that their defense is up to par and their offense is still elite.
