2. The Seattle Seahawks or San Francisco 49ers will miss the playoffs
The NFC is so stacked that a 10-6 team will likely miss the playoffs, and it appears that the Seahawks and 49ers are on track to have a record similar to that. Since there are only two wild card teams, it will be difficult for both of them to make it. The Arizona Cardinals still have the No. 1 seed with a 9-1 record, but the Seahawks and 49ers are both 6-4. The NFC East and NFC North have playoff-caliber teams as well, so the odds are that one of those divisions will produce two playoff teams.
Right now, it’s looking like the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers will both make it. The Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys are both fighting for a spot from the NFC East. All four of those teams have a 7-3 record. It doesn’t help matters that the Seahawks and 49ers have difficult schedules ahead, including two matchups against each other. If everything goes wrong, the Cardinals may be the only NFC West team in the playoffs.
