1. The Indianapolis Colts are still not ready for the big stage
The Colts are a great team, but they still have yet to prove that they can be an elite team. Sunday Night Football had a very similar outcome to last year’s playoff game between the Colts and Patriots. The Patriots beat the Colts, 42-20, and a diamond in the rough running back steamrolled the Colts defense with four rushing touchdowns once again. This time, it was a practice squad pickup named Jonas Gray, who rushed for 199 yards.
The Colts offense is having a fantastic season, and Andrew Luck is looking like a future MVP with his play this season, but the running game and defense were exposed once again. The Colts had previously allowed 55 points to the Pittsburgh Steelers, so their defense is apparently still incapable of hanging with the best offenses. The team was only able to come up with 19 rushing yards, and 15 of those came from Luck. Ahmad Bradshaw is expected to miss the rest of the season with a broken leg too. While the Colts have a bright future and are already one of the better teams in the NFL, the AFC is still a two-horse race between the Patriots and Broncos.
