Week 12 of the 2014 NFL season featured exciting games that came down to the wire and possibly the greatest catch in NFL history.
The Denver Broncos overcame a 28-17 deficit in the third quarter and rallied with 22 unanswered points to defeat the Miami Dolphins, 39-36.
The San Diego Chargers held on for a 27-24 win against the St. Louis Rams, and the Cleveland Browns stunned the Atlanta Falcons with a last-second field goal to win, 26-24.
The Seattle Seahawks kept their NFC West title chances afloat with a 19-3 home victory against the Arizona Cardinals. On Sunday night, the Dallas Cowboys defeated the New York Giants, 31-28, in a shootout and overcame Odell Beckham Jr.’s amazing touchdown catch.
Here are five things NFL fans can take away from the Week 12 weekend games.
5. The Seattle Seahawks can still be a Super Bowl contender
The Seahawks achieved another statement win as they defeated the Arizona Cardinals. This puts them two games behind the Cardinals in the NFC West standings. Their defense showed the form that helped them win a Super Bowl last season. The NFC has many teams who are capable of contending for a Super Bowl, and the Seahawks proved that they are still one of those teams.
Although the Seahawks went through a rough patch and showed signs of a Super Bowl hangover, they appear primed to have a big second half and return to the playoffs. However, it will be difficult for them to return to the Super Bowl since a division title will be required for them to have home-field advantage, which has clearly helped them this season.
