2. The Green Bay Packers defense is ready for the big stage
The Packers showed that they are the best team in the NFL right now as they defeated the Patriots and held their high-powered offense to 21 points. Their pass rush showed aggression that had been lacking the past three seasons. Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was pressured frequently, but he was able to get rid of the ball quickly throughout until the Packers finally got the best of him with a crucial third-down sack in the fourth quarter.
The defense also put enough pressure on kicker Stephen Gostkowski as he missed a field goal that would have cut the lead to two points. Although Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski caught seven passes for 98 yards, the defense held strong as a whole against an offense that averaged 32.4 points per game. Performances like this and holding the Philadelphia Eagles to 20 points is a great sign that the Packers defense can match its 2010 production and contend for another Super Bowl.
