2. The San Francisco 49ers’ season is over
Losing to the Oakland Raiders is inexcusable this season, and the 49ers are looking like shells of their former selves. Quarterback Colin Kaepernick continued to struggle with two interceptions, and the 49ers offense has not been able to score more than 17 points in their last four games. They have a grueling schedule ahead with the Seahawks on the road and the Chargers and Cardinals at home.
The 49ers now have a 7-6 record, which will never be enough to survive in the NFC West. The division has officially turned into a two-way race between the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks. The alleged locker room drama may be true, judging by the 49ers’ recent play. This sort of season was not expected out of a supposed Super Bowl favorite, but it appears that a playoff trip is not in their future.
