3. The Dallas Cowboys and San Diego Chargers are legitimate Super Bowl contenders
The Cowboys and Chargers both improved to 5-1 on Sunday. The Cowboys pulled off the biggest upset of the year as they defeated the Seattle Seahawks on the road, 30-23. No team has been able to accomplish this aside from the Arizona Cardinals in Week 16 of 2013. The Cowboys have shown that they have a complete offense with running back DeMarco Murray leading the league in rushing and quarterback Tony Romo continuing to play at a high level.
The Chargers survived an upset bid from the Oakland Raiders and escaped with a 31-28 win. Quarterback Philip Rivers posted a passer rating over 120 for the fifth consecutive game, and running back Branden Oliver continued to fill in admirably for Ryan Mathews with 101 rushing yards. Although the defense had a bad day, the Chargers were able to pull out the win even on a bad day.
