1. DeMarco Murray and Aaron Rodgers are the frontrunners for MVP
Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray clearly leads the league in rushing with 913 yards and seven touchdowns, and he is the first running back in NFL history to rush for at least 100 yards in the first seven games of the season. Murray averages 4.9 yards per carry, and he is on pace to possibly approach the single-season rushing record. The record is 2,105 yards, which is held by former Los Angeles Rams running back Eric Dickerson. If Murray reaches 2,000 yards and the Cowboys reach the playoffs, the MVP should be his.
However, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is also making a strong case. He now has 18 touchdown passes with only one interception, and his passer rating is 117.8. He threw three touchdowns against the Carolina Panthers before being pulled in the fourth quarter. Rodgers has thrown at least three touchdown passes with zero interceptions in four consecutive games, and the Packers hold a 5-2 record.
