1. Jets quarterback competition is alive and well
Despite what the New York Jets may be saying about Geno Smith having the starting job for keeps, his position is nowhere near safe. He has failed to impress in the preseason, and Michael Vick played solidly on Saturday with a touchdown pass and completing just about all of his passes. His touchdown gave the Jets the lead as they coasted to a win over the Bengals.
Head coach Rex Ryan is on the hot seat for the Jets missing the playoffs three years in a row, so he may elect to start Vick if Smith continues to struggle in order to save his job for another year.
