During Week 4 of the Sunday games of NFL football, even more surprises took place as the New Orleans Saints were dominated by the Dallas Cowboys, 38-17.
The Green Bay Packers also bounced back with an offensive clinic against the Chicago Bears, and the San Francisco 49ers dealt the Philadelphia Eagles their first loss of the season to avoid a 1-3 start.
Here are five takeaways from yet another week of unpredictable NFL action.
5. The San Francisco 49ers are still a contender
The 49ers got off to a 1-2 start for the second consecutive season, but they were able to recover with a 26-21 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles, who were 3-0 at the time. The 49ers rallied from a 21-10 deficit while still establishing the run game, and Frank Gore rushed for a total of 119 yards on 24 carries.
This game showed that while the 49ers still have things to work on, they can still be a contender in the NFL and have realistic Super Bowl chances if they continue to patch up their early-season issues.
