2. The Dallas Cowboys are legitimate NFC East contenders
Before the season, very few NFL fans would have expected the Cowboys to make a run at the playoffs since they finished the worst defense in the NFL last season and lost key players to either free agency or injuries. However, their offense has not lost a beat as running back DeMarco Murray leads the NFL in rushing. Quarterback Tony Romo and wide receiver Dez Bryant have also continued to be vital to the Cowboys offense, as they connected on a clutch throw to seal an overtime win against the Houston Texans.
The Cowboys are now 4-1, which ties for first place in the NFC East with the Philadelphia Eagles. In addition to their offense shining, the Cowboys have shown spectacular improvement on defense, as they rank eighth in scoring defense with 20.6 points allowed per game.
