3. Los Angeles Lakers to miss out on the Western Conference play-offs
It has been a tumultuous season so far for the LA Lakers, as it has been an almost constant struggle since the off-season following the arrivals of Steve Nash and Dwight Howard.
While the latter has had his issues, the Lakers currently sit outside of play-off contention and will face a real battle for the rest of the campaign to sneak in to the top eight.
Howard has had run-ins with Kobe Bryant, some public, suffered from an on-going shoulder injury, struggled with his form and had his desire questioned.
Yet the blame can’t be entirely placed at his feet, with questions marks also surrounding whether coach Mike D’Antoni’s style fits with the players at his disposal.
The Lakers did appear to be on the right track when they put together a winning streak with Bryant adopting a provider rather than scoring role, however their inconsistency returned and problems continue to linger both on and off the court.
