In 2013, we saw tight ends such as Jordan Cameron experience breakout seasons. There are more tight ends who are ready to be the next breakout stud.
In 2013, there were tight ends such as Jordan Cameron who broke out. Cameron became a top weapon for the Browns in a Norv Turner-run offense.
This year, there are many tight ends who are candidates to have a breakout season in 2014.
Here are five you should expect to see burst onto the NFL scene.
5. Delanie Walker, Titans
Walker has been overshadowed by Vernon Davis in the 49ers offense for most of his career, but he now has a chance to be the man at tight end for the Titans. In his second year with the Titans, Walker will be involved in an offense that will be more dependent on passing since running back Chris Johnson departed for the Jets. The former 49er already showed promise in his first year by catching 60 passes for 570 yards and six touchdowns.
4. Coby Fleener, Colts
Fleener has been somewhat of a disappointment so far in his first two years in Indianapolis since being drafted by them in the second round. However, he will continue to have former Stanford teammate Andrew Luck as his quarterback. Fleener will also have attention drawn away from him with new talent at wide receiver and fellow tight end Dwayne Allen returning from injury. Fleener has the potential to be an elite NFL tight end, but he will need to put it all together.
