Despite the best efforts of promoter Eddie Hearn to get this fight made with his $1.5m offer on live television, the two promotional companies were unable to reach an agreement for this summer.
Both men are champions in the super-bantamweight division, and although there are those across the pond considered to be on an elite level above them, these two are certainly pushing for the big fights beyond this summer.
However, the one that British fans want to see is Quigg vs Frampton, and whether it is in Belfast or Manchester, it will undoubtedly sell tickets and be a huge success financially and finally end the debate over who the best in the division is on these shores.
