James DeGale vs George Groves 2
This rivalry couldn’t be any more genuine. DeGale and Groves go back a long way with the latter boasting wins over his foe as both an amateur and a professional.
His points win back in 2011 was contentious, and there was a valid argument for the pair to meet in an immediate rematch. However, they went their separate ways but ultimately they will always be on a collision course for the rest of their careers.
DeGale made history last weekend after becoming the first British Olympic gold medallist to become a world champion as a professional, as he defeated Andre Dirrell in Boston to be crowned the IBF super-middleweight champion.
Meanwhile, Groves faces Badou Jack later this year for the WBC belt, and a unification fight at Wembley next summer would seemingly be the pick of the bunch as these two will be itching to lace the gloves up and silence their bitter rivals. Will it be repeat or revenge? Hopefully we’ll find out in 2016.
